Brief Biographical Sketch:

I graduated MIT in 2011 and moved to the San Francisco Bay area for a job with the Volkswagen Electronics Research Lab. I have always enjoyed designing and making new things. If you've got a problem, build the solution!

L2590: Using Basic Hand Tools in Splash! Fall 2012 (Nov. 03 - 04, 2012)
An introductory class on using hand tools for people who have never turned a screw or hammered a nail! What's the difference between a "plus" and a "minus" screw? What's that weird claw thing on the back of a hammer? If you've never built anything before, come learn how to use basic hand tools like screwdrivers, hammers, pliers, and saws. We will get a chance to play with all these different tools and learn about how they work.


H2591: Introductory Origami in Splash! Fall 2012 (Nov. 03 - 04, 2012)
You've heard of folding proteins, but what about folding paper? Learn the basics of origami by actually folding a few models. We will go over how to read an origami diagram and also the names of some basic folds. By the end, you'll have a finished origami model!


E1930: Building a Camping Stove in Splash! Spring 2012 (Apr. 21 - 22, 2012)
If you love building stuff and you love camping, then you should build a camping stove! This class will teach you how to make a functional camping stove out of two aluminum soda cans—a popular design sometimes called the Penny Stove. Each student will get to make their own stove and see it working by the end of the session. The course will also cover the basics of how a camping stove works.
