What is Splash?

Splash is a two-day marathon of classes in a variety of subjects that are open to all students in grades 8-12 (ages 13-18 if homeschooled and lacking a formal grade level). The classes you take are completely up to you as the goal of Splash is to get students excited about learning and help them explore new topics.

How do I register for Splash?
For more info about how student registration works, please see our student guide and read our FAQs.

Students should make an account on our website to register for the next upcoming Splash. Our registration happens in three phases: a program lottery (”phase zero”), a class lottery, and first-come, first-serve class (FCFS) sign-up.

During the program lottery, students can indicate their interest in the program, whether individually or with a group, and they will be randomly selected to gain entry into the program and move to the class lottery phase.** During the class lottery, students can submit their preferences for classes they wanted to take during each timeslot. After we run the class lottery and release the enrollment results, we open up the remaining classes for enrollment in the first-come, first-serve (FCFS) phase of registration. During this time, students can go online and enroll themselves in any remaining spots in classes to fill up their schedule.

Splash Classes

Classes are taught by college students and local community members. Our teachers create their own classes, which means every class will be led by someone excited about the topic. The classes are generally one to four hours long and may be lecture-style, hands-on, or discussion-based. The subject matter for classes ranges from casual hobbies to intensive academic subjects.

How to Attend

Classes will be in-person and held on Stanford campus.

Special Needs Participants

We strive to make the Splash experience as enjoyable and accessible as possible for all our participants. Please visit this page for more information if you need special accommodation.
