Brief Biographical Sketch:

Hi! My name is Melanie Cahill. I am in my second year at Stanford University studying Geology! I play drums in the Stanford Band, dance in Stanford's polynesian dance group Kaorihiva, and play cello on the side. Besides music, I also like laying in grass and eating chocolate, not to mention learning everything I can about rocks!

We will learn about the formation of the Earth and the processes that shape what we see at the surface. We will discuss the mechanics behind plate motion and why it makes the Earth so unique in the solar system. Additionally, we will cover the rock cycle and the composition of the Earth.
