Brief Biographical Sketch:
I graduated from UC Berkeley in 2002 with a degree in Molecular and Cell Biology. I then spent some time at NYU doing Immunology research. Now I am a second year grad student at Stanford studying Immunology and Immunotherapy. I am also the founder of a chewing gum company called Think Gum LLC. We make chewing gum designed to improve concentration and memory. The course will be broken up into four 15 min sections. They will include:
1. What is an immune system and why do I need one?
2. The basics of how an immune system works
3. What happens when my immune system is hijacked or goes haywire?
4. Using and altering your immune system to cure and prevent disease.
This course should be a good intro for anyone who has heard people talk about the immune system, vaccines, antibodies and the like and was curious what it all meant.
