H7403: Writing Across Genres in Splash Fall 2019 (Nov. 16 - 17, 2019)
Do you ever have wanna sit down and write a short story? Or write a song? But then after you sit down, you realize you don't actually know how to do that at all? If so, this is the class for you! In this class, you will do a deep dive into a type of writing that interests you or that you want to know more about (slam poetry, short stories, lyrics, etc.). We will have small group discussions about the conventions of that genre and how to get started writing, and then select a theme for the group to write about (heartbreak, food, sleep, etc.). You will then individually write in whichever genre you choose about the theme, and emerge with a final piece of writing in a genre that you can hang on your fridge/frame/publish!
