Whether it comes to fighting social inequalities, outcompeting other businesses, researching effective public policies, or just trying to predict future events, this course explores many different ways economics can fail us. We learn instead how to pair psychology with economics to better understand both the behavior of others and the world around us. The course explores many of these stories to make a larger point about the importance of an interdisciplinary approach to problem solving in the social sciences. This class is for anyone who is even a little bit interested in the social sciences or just wants to play some fun games!
