ESP Biography

You've probably gone into a museum and wondered, "How is this art?" Well, in this class, we attempt to answer that question. We'll notice that a central thread that ties all of this art together is its experimentalism--the way it innovates, revolutionizes, and breaks the rules. We'll look at all sorts of experimental art (historical and modern), ranging from the written, spoken, performed, visual, musical, and the ones that can't even fit into these categories. You'll come out of this class with a deeper understanding of how and why artists "break the rules," but ultimately, to discover this experimental drive in yourself and your life.
