Brief Biographical Sketch:

Yo! I'm Ian, a current junior studying computer science! I've been teaching since I was in 8th grade, and while I've mainly done tutoring and teaching in STEM field (physics, math, CS), I think the biggest constant in my life has been music- I've played piano since I was 5, and violin since I was 10, apart from of course listening to music all the time no matter what I'm doing. In my free time, I build fun things on my computer and like to compose and mashup music, from EDM to orchestral scores; I also play for the Stanford Symphony Orchestra and do tennis on the Stanford club team.

In this course, we'll study how famous composers like John Williams or Hans Zimmer make iconic musical scores that complement equally iconic movies such as Star Wars, Kung Fu Panda, and Interstellar, using basic principles of music theory!
