Brief Biographical Sketch:
Eric is a sophomore majoring in economics and mathematics. He is primarily interested in microeconomic theory and mechanism design due to how applicable they are to analyzing and improving the real world. In his free time, Eric enjoys biking, playing chess, and twirling lightsabers. In most economic settings, prices are what determine who gets what. Yet in other settings, it is difficult for prices to come into play. For instance, consider the problem of matching high school students to universities or people to marriage partners. Yet in both these settings, individuals have preferences over outcomes. This course will analyze the economics of matching and introduce students to the theory behind the deferred acceptance matching algorithm.
