Brief Biographical Sketch:

I am a 28 years old PhD candidate in the department of civil and environmental engineering. I grew up in a medium size city in Colombia called Ibague. When I was 17, I moved to Bogota for undergrad and lived there until I came here last year. I worked as an structural engineer for a few years and also as a instructor of undergraduate courses back home. I really enjoyed that teaching experience, to the point when I now want to be involved in education as much as I can.

In my personal time, I love to play and watch soccer (and lately Football as well), enjoy a movie with my wife, and hang out with friends.
