Brief Biographical Sketch:
Third year Applied Physics graduate student, working on ultra fast optics with Professor David Reis at the SLAC National Laboratory. Trader from Berkeley, who still roots for Cal, used to be a part of a program called Cal NERDS (New Experiences for Research and Diversity in Science). Best quote from undergrad, "get your nerd on" which I think is quite fitting for a SPLASH event. Past Classes(Clicking a class title will bring you to the course's section of the corresponding course catalog)P2561: Fourier Transforms and Music in Splash! Fall 2012 (Nov. 03 - 04, 2012)
Fourier Transforms or Transformers in disguise? Want to learn about waveforms, music, and complicated math equations? This is the class for you!!! Open to everyone!!!
P1472: Waves and Guitar Strings in Splash! Spring 2011 (Apr. 16 - 17, 2011)
Wanna learn how to make a one string guitar while understanding the wave mechanics behind it? Well then this is the class for you.
This class includes going into a little wave mechanics to understand harmonics and then making a one string guitar.
S1178: You and Physics in Splash! Fall 2010 (Nov. 13 - 14, 2010)
Have you ever wondered why you can walk?
Or why balls fall down when you through them up?
How about, why Michael Jackson would spin so fast?
Maybe, you've asked about the different noises an ambulance makes as it goes past?
Well, this is the class for you. Come find out how you interact with physics everyday and perform some hands-on experiments.
