My professional journey has meandered through an array of settings, from foster care and educational institutions to hospitals and nonprofit organizations, touching lives in the juvenile justice system and among the homeless community. Embodying the principles I champion, I've always placed a premium on self-care and personal development as the bedrock of effectively supporting others. Formerly, I dedicated over four fruitful years to Lucile Packard Children's Hospital, where I contributed to various capacities within the mental health domain. This invaluable experience underscored my commitment to enhancing pediatric mental health care, fostering a profound understanding of the nuanced needs of children and families navigating mental health challenges. Today, in my practice, Optimind Counseling stands as a beacon of integrative mental health solutions, driven by an unwavering mission to uplift humanity's collective spirit through advanced mental health practices and social services. Taught by experienced, licensed therapists, this class was designed for those looking to make personal development a priority and take a proactive stance to get mentally strong – and by strong, we mean, healthier, calmer, and in more control over one’s own life. Anxiety, depression and stress are on the rise. Therefore, it is our duty to develop the mindset and skills necessary to manage our mental health and cultivate resilience.
Just as we go to the gym and exercise to get stronger, mental strength involves developing daily habits that builds on mental muscles. Much like seeing physical gains from lifting weights and eating healthier, we develop healthy mental habits, like practicing delayed gratification, gratitude, and patience, some of which we will touch on in this class.

There are a whole lot of people struggling with stress, overwhelm and mental health issues these days that need to take back control and build mental strength to deal effectively with daily pressures, challenges and stressors – well enough to perform to the best of their abilities, irrespective of the circumstance in which they find themselves.

The goal is for you to learn more about how you can take a more proactive and deliberate stance on your mental health vs reactive. This is about preventive care.
